Making your College Essay Shine!
The college essay can be the
deciding factor in your acceptance to a college. Rising seniors, are you
struggling to find the right topic? Come to the Chelmsford Public Library on
Tuesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. to brainstorm ideas. The discussion will be led by
journalist Joyce Pellino Crane. Using sample essays Crane will show you how to
begin and organize your story. She will discuss how to add tension to keep the
reader interested, how to move the story forward to demonstrate emotional
growth, and how to end it on a serendipitous note. Ms. Crane will be joined in the presentation by Troy Lazaro, Assistant Director of Multicultural Recruitment at UMass Lowell, who will give students insight into what a college admissions director looks for when considering applicants.
This event is for rising seniors only and their parents or guardians.
