Mary Pat Kelly draws upon family heritage to continue the story of Nora Kelly, begun in Of Irish Blood, with a striking novel of historical fiction in Irish Above All. As an author and filmmaker, Kelly has told many stories connected to Ireland. She is also the author of Galway Bay and is a frequent contributor to Irish America Magazine, while her movie and television credits include Proud, starring Ossie Davis and Stephen Rea, three award-winning PBS documentaries, and work for good Morning America and Saturday Night Live. A graduate of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Kelly received her PhD in English from CUNY Graduate Center and was born and raised in Chicago and now lives in New York.
The Chelmsford Genealogy Club is an informal genealogy group sponsored
by the Library for sharing of information and ideas serving Chelmsford
and surrounding towns. At many of our regular meetings we host speakers on various topics related to genealogy. When no speaker we will offer one
or two 20 minute talks to get you started on your genealogy quest. Some
of the topics are; Where to Start, Using Census Records, Visiting
National Archives in Waltham, Using State Records in Boston, Choosing
Software,etc. Check the library's events calendar for news of special programs.
This group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. except in
January and February when it meets on the first Saturday of the month at
1:00 p.m. There are no meetings in July or August.
