Climate Conversations virtual meeting

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Event Details

During our May Climate Conversations meeting over Zoom, we will discuss Municipal Aggregation, the bulk purchase of electricity by municipalities, like Chelmsford. This will include a history of the two aggregation programs Chelmsford has provided, called Chelmsford Choice, and the new upcoming program starting in November. Beyond cost savings aggregation programs can drive demand for more renewable energy. Hear about how our neighbors, Lowell and Westford have adopted Green Municipal Aggregation programs. Be prepared to learn about RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard) and Class I RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates). Also, you might want to review your electric bills beforehand.

Please register to receive the Zoom meeting link up to 2PM on May 14, 2020.

"Climate Conversations" is an informal group sponsored by the Massachusetts Chapter of Elders Climate Action (ECA) and the Chelmsford Public Library. We meet on the second Thursday of each month in the McCarthy Meeting Room to share our concerns about Climate Change. Public invited. Meetings may include guest speakers, film screenings or book discussions to provide information and stimulate conversations on what we can do as individuals and as a community to reduce climate change and promote climate change legislation.
