MacKay Mystery Group

6:45 PM - 8:00 PM
MacKay Branch Library
Anna MacKay Room
The MacKay Mystery Book Group picks two authors a month. Members read books by those authors and come prepared to discuss why they enjoyed these books better (or why they did not like them.) Were earlier books better crafted than more recent ones? Have characters developed over the years? Do you get a true sense of the place where the story is set? What good Mystery books have people read recently? The MacKay Library will have a variety of the featured authors' books available for loan in the month preceding each discussion.

Bibliobites is a book group with a culinary focus. We read a combination of cookbooks, culinary memoirs, and Foodie fiction. We often pick a theme for a meeting and encourage members to try recipes related to the theme. We do not discourage members from bringing those recipes in for us to try!  Bibliobites meetings are open to everyone and meet the last Friday of the month at 11 am.  This month's title is Sheet Pan Suppers by Molly Gilbert; the subtitle promises "120 recipes for simple, surprising, hands-off meals straight from the oven: plus breakfasts, desserts, and snacks, too."  Wow!  Books are available at the main desk.
