Tech Talk: Getting Started with the Internet

This tech talk will focus on three topics:

1. How do I access the internet and what is it?
2. What are some safety tips for going online?
3. How can I find what I'm looking for?

In the first part we'll talk about what the internet is and the basic features of browsers, which is the name for the computer program that allows you to access the internet. In the second part, we'll give you some specific tips for staying safer online. Finally, we'll spend some time talking about how to get the most out of search engines, which are a type of website that can help you find the websites and information you're looking for.

Tech Talk: Buying New Hardware

We'll be doing a little self-analysis to determine your primary needs for a new machine. Then we'll do a basic rundown of the different types of computers on the market. Finally, we'll demystify some of the technical jargon surrounding a computer's specifications and hardware.
